THE DEBATE from real people.. no slamming, no name calling from either side

As we watch the news, as we watch the campaigns, as we watch the world around us I am dumbfounded by the constant violence, slamming, insults, racism, and plain out closed minded individuals. I have never run a blog before, but I do blog and I discoverd while on a blog this evening how they can be misused, close-minded, and biased. I went to a blog on HaloScan for a Miss Beth, which I think I found on CNN and when giving my opinion of today's happenings I was insulted, called names, and banned for not being for McCain. I was told I was being Anti-American. I did not saying anything rude, I did not comment on grammar errors or anything like that, that I was accused of.

What I did do was to state that I believed what McCain did today was underhanded, sneaky, and just plain dirty pool. Please let me explain, like I did on Miss Beth's blog. Today at 8:30am Obama made a call to the McCain party stating that a Republican had called him and said they should make a joint statement to Congress about what needs to be done with the package, instead of giving the Gov. a blank check with a smile. Obama left a message. At around 2:30pm McCain called Obama back and agreed this would be an excellent idea to send this type of message to Congress and the American people TOGETHER. Shortly after this McCain held a press conference by himself stating he had talked with Obama's campaign and they would be doing this. He had also stated that he was THINKING about suspending his campaign for the time being. If you have seem the videos I do not need to paraphrase those, so I won't.

Anyway, I believe that promising someone something and then running behind their backs and publicly saying something else is sneaky, underhanded, and dirty pool. If someone did that to you, you would probably be cussing out the wall right about then. But Obama did not do that, he simply went on with reporters saying that he thought they were going to do a joint statement and was under the impression McCain was not going to do what he did. He went on to say that he thought the debate should go on. That if Washington felt they needed their help, they had planes and could fly right over to lend their support and fly back for the debates. Its only like a 1 hour traveling time by plane, one way I think, if that. The Head of the House also stated this and stated that he did not think the candidates showing up would really help more then it would distract. And at a time like this they did not need someone for photo ops.

Ok so after all this, McCain then announces that he thinks they should just cancel the VP debate and have the Presidential debate next week in Mississippi. My suggestion is that if he is needed so badly in Washington why didn't he go today or 10days ago? He hasn't been in Washington since April as it is, but just as the polls are dropping and both debates are coming he is all of a sudden concerned about running back to Washington. Now don't get me wrong the economical crisis is major but this crisis started over 10days ago, why make that decision the day before your debate right after you told Obama something else? He cancelled Larry King for tonight so he could go on with Katie Coric(sp? srry). My suggestion was and still is switch the debates. Have VP's go tonight and then the Presidential's can go next week like McCain wants.

My point in laying this out is, I don't trust McCain/Palin. I will be honest, I don't trust them. They have lied to the American people so many times about so many things I have lost count. When confronted about the lies, they side step or ignore the question all together and stick with the same ole story.
Examples (only a few I want to go to bed) The infamous "Bridge to Nowhere", this one she blames on everyone else and will not admit she ever supported the Bridge. She says something like, I support a transportation line, something along those lines, even though when she was running for Govenor this was part of her platform. She did not tell congress "Thanks, but no Thanks" until she was about to lose all the money and it became an embarrassment.
The Govenor's jet, she like to say she put it on Ebay, but doesn't tell the whole story about how it did not sell on ebay and she had to pay a broker to sell it for a appx. $7million loss. She says she got rid of the Govenor's chef to help save money, what she doesn't tell you is she gave him a different job with a raise.
The infamous book banning.... She did not ban books, she DID inquire how to though. As a public official I believe that this inappropriate for her to do. Maybe not illegal, but still why would anyone, especially a NEW public official go to the library herself several times to inquire. If it was parents asking why didn't she respectfully decline and suggest they go to the library? Also how long has that library been there and no one has asked before, they had to wait for Palin? My opinion also is the "List" that was distrubuted after this came about is a little to convienent. This to me does not sound logical at all!!! If someone was trying to hurt the campaign would they really put obvious books(like Harry Potter) that weren't even in print on that list. Wouldn't they want to make it more believable and factual looking? Now Palin can laugh and say "I never had books banned, did you see that list, some of those books weren't even in print yet" I agree she never had them banned, but she did inquire about it and when that list came out, the story got twisted to she never had books banned. Research Alaskan newspapers, there is one that had a statement from the librarian right after it happened and she confirms this.
Now the last one I will give my opinion on. TROOPERGATE...... I know I know I bet you were all waiting for that one. Ok first she says "Bring it on" "I have nothing to hide" during her interview with Charlie Gibson. Now only a couple weeks later she is refusing to cooperate. Her husband and top aides disobey the law by refusing to obey a court order and no one can saction them, fine them, or force them until after the election is over. Mind you her reasoning for firing him at first was because he did not have authorization to travel to Washington, but her Chief of Staff did in fact sign an approval for him to go. So then her reasoning is because he was insubordinate with budget matters, but won't give specifics. His reasoning for going to Washington was to get funding to pay for and help prosecute rapists, which at the time Palin was charging the rape victims for. Her campaign handlers state it is because they believe the investigation is Politically motivated. But if there is nothing to hide, no factual evidence to prove she did anything wrong then what does it matter if it is politically motivated or not? Now the story changes again..... She will cooperate as long as the Personell Board, that she hires and can fire, is in charge of it and it is confidential. In my opinion this makes her look guilty of trying to hide the truth from the American people again.
I believe if McCain/Palin would stop lieing, distorting facts, and ignoring the American people we wouldn't be having this debate at all, but they don't seem to want to stop and we are having this debate. If Palin had told the truth from the beginning the media and other sources would not being trying to find out the truth and these subjects would not be an issue, but she is not telling the truth and so they are an issue. I am afraid of what will happen if we give them even more power in this country what will they do. THIS IS MY OPINION, based on facts that have been proven. Now what I want to know is what you think about the campaigns, about the different candidates. You do not have to agree with me, I don't mind, but please please NO SLAMMING, INSULTS, COMMENTS ABOUT GRAMMAR, NO POLITICS HERE, just good debating and opinions. Thank you.
